Brookvale Public School forum - September 2010
On 1 September 2010 nearly 80 people, with an interest in Brookie's future, met at the Brookvale Public School Hall to deliberate on the merits of options being considered to improve the facilities at Brookvale Oval, attract additional use and fund long term renewal works.

Survey 2010
Warringah Council wants to understand community preferences for the future of Brookvale Oval within Brookvale Park and is undertaking community consultation. Council will not make a decision about the future of Brookvale Oval until consultation activities and technical feasibility studies have been completed.

Consultation next steps July 2010
The next stage of consultation includes a reply paid survey to all properties in the Warringah area that members of the community can complete in hard copy or online. Five hundred local residents will also be contacted randomly via phone to complete a telephone survey.

Maintenance and Renewal Costs - July 2011
In 2010, Council commissioned Waypoint to identify the expected maintenance and renewal costs for the next ten years to keep the Oval's facilities at their current standard.
Waypoint is a specialist consultancy that has extensive experience in valuing sports stadiums and facilities. Waypoint identified that the buildings in the Oval have a replacement value of $26 million.

Preliminary Consultation Outcomes - July 2010
Consultation to date has included an online discussion forum that has had more than 1,500 visits, a staffed display at Warringah Mall, a stakeholder panel with several randomly selected members of the community who expressed an interest to participate and ‘Brekkie at Brookie’ a community workshop on the Oval that was attended by approximately 150 people.

About the initial engagement process in 2010
Council must be financially responsible and has decided to look at options for the Oval’s long term future to ensure that the interests of ratepayers are considered and protected.

About Brookvale Park
Brookvale Park includes Brookvale Oval and surrounding open space areas. The Oval dominates the centre of the Park and includes the playing surface, grandstands and other minor facilities. The Oval is recognised as a northern beaches icon as the home ground of the much loved Manly Warringah Sea Eagles. The adjacent open space areas form a neighbourhood park which is highly valued by local Brookvale residents
