During 2010, Council undertook consultation that has confirmed there is broad community support for Brookvale Oval to continue to operate as a regional sporting facility and for it to be more actively utilised for other community uses.     The next stage of consultation includes a reply paid survey to all properties in the Warringah area that members of the community can complete in hard copy or online. Five hundred local residents will also be contacted randomly via phone to complete a telephone survey.

    In 2010, Council commissioned Waypoint to identify the expected maintenance and renewal costs for the next ten years to keep the Oval's facilities at their current standard.

    Waypoint is a specialist consultancy that has extensive experience in valuing sports stadiums and facilities. Waypoint identified that the buildings in the Oval have a replacement value of $26 million.

    On Saturday 1 May, about 150 people met for breakfast on the Oval to talk about the future of Brookvale Park.
