North Narrabeen Beach Reserve and Birdwood Park are important recreational spaces with significant environmental value and cultural heritage. Many locals, together with visitors, use the beach and associated areas for a range of recreational and fitness activities. North Narrabeen Surf Life Saving Club, situated on the Beach Reserve, plays a vital role in providing additional beach and water safety for all beach users.
Importantly, North Narrabeen has also been recognised as a National Surfing Reserve and provides an exceptional surfing experience for local and visiting surfers and board riders alike.
Council is developing a masterplan for these coastal reserves. The masterplan will outline the long term vision for their future conservation, upgrade and management. Importantly, the masterplan will provide a ‘blueprint’ for the future of the reserves, allowing Council to plan and to seek additional funding when necessary.
The masterplan area is defined as the area shown on the attached map. Click here for more information about the Masterplan and the expert panel.
Community values, issues and priorities are important inputs to the masterplan process, and Council is committed to working closely with key stakeholders, local residents, beach and reserve users, local businesses and other people who use the area in the development of the masterplan.
Council is committed to developing an effective, appropriate and dynamic long term plan for North Narrabeen and welcomes your participation in this process.
