Free park & ride x3. North, South & West.

Do something similar to Suncorp.
Make all the surrounding streets no parking during big events, and provide free park and ride for ticket holders.

My personal opinion is for 15,000 crowd the parking is not much of a problem.
Where does council find park and ride locations close to the Oval?
Warringah Mall?
Rat Park?
Open to suggestions??

I agree; I live near the oval and with the commercial area to the south, the parking is not too bad. If we had a park & ride Bus terminus at the Bus depot it would be better. The main problem being inconsiderate drivers and poor council roads (i.e. Shakel) for entry & exit.

the council allowed units to be built in shackel ave with no thought to widening the road and fully aware the residents would park on the street which is now a one lane street. the nature strips in shackel are wide enough to allow the street to be widened. it is a disgrace how it is at the moment the developers should have been forced to pay for widening the road or provide adequate off street paking

Where do you live? I live near the oval and it is MAYHEM. Cars blocking the road, parking on both sides making roads single lane, obstructing drive ways, parking on green strips, you name it. Finding a parking solution is a MUST FIX before any other investments/upgrades are considered.
Mall, bus depot, DY council car park?

i agree maybe they should add a few levels to the league's club car park. i always get dropped off and picked up at the leagues club and walk over

A parking station was once suggested for under the oval which could also double as a park and ride for the people who commute to the city during the week and then be used on game days. It would be a major, but is one suggestion.

An alternative transport/parking system would help remove the cars etc from the seats. Hvaing an Olympic Park style bus service between 4 or 5 key locations would alleaviate the need for people to park close to the oval or having a large parking station as part of the coomcerial development of the ground would help.
Maybe even a combo of the two

What would the cost of an underground parking station be, and how often would it be used (10x a year)?
There's no demand for a mid-week park n ride and those that currently do park on the street for free, so how would this parking station generate revenue?

I live only 100m from oval ground, and lived in brookvale all my life, The main bottle neck is Shackel avenue, its a magor contribution to traffic durring the game, I believe if warringah council organised another parking alternative, eg Warringah mall , dee why, with Shuttle bus fee included in levy of Ticket as an option if requiring this service. or a parking station can be built behind brookvale shops.
Perhaps some parking signs, that dispaly "NO parking/Standing during events" could be an Idea.
The community & ratepayers would no benifit from a underground or above ground parking station located somewhere on the ground, this would cost way to much to regenerate cost.
