Keep the Manly Sea Eagles at BROOKVALE, we're the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles, not Central Coast Sea Eagles. Fix the playing surface, (remember sand had to cover the sprinklers, as shown on Fox Sports), improve the Toilet Blocks. If Greenie councillor Christina doesn't want to accept responsibility for a Warringah Council owned Park, she should quit Warringah Council, or I'm sure Manly Mayor, Jean Hay, would be happy to welcome the Sea Eagles as tenants at Manly Oval.

The reason the Sea Eagles are at Brookvale and not Manly already is because Manly council wanted nothing to do with rugby league.
Manly chose Rugby Union over league, and to this day still don't contribute 1 cent to the Sea Eagles.
Perhaps we should lobby Manly Council for funding since they benefit directly from the team?

Read the question, it's not about the Eagles, it's about everybody else...

To attract increased community use, the oval/ park needs to offer more than currently exists. At the moment , there is just a sportsfield and adjacent parkland + playground. The grandstand seating and the internal room/ corporate boxes are empty / unused for the majority of the year - as they are specifically made for the Winter NRL season. What do we do with the grandstands outside the footie season? they are not multi-functional- you cant just switch them around to become an indoor sport centre in the off season !! (though it would be a great idea) There needs to be some other recreation facility at the site that can operate for the community when football is not being played there.

the emphasis is only on brookvale oval which, ok is used for rugby league by the sea eagles, some schools and the junior rugby league. It is one of many ovals which the council owns and are leased to varying sporting organisations does any one ask why cromer park is only used for soccer and has a licensed club on the ground some of the other grounds are used for cricket in summer and that is the only other use. The best solution as the ground is basically designed to cater for outdoor sports like rugby league, rugby union, soccer etc would be to ask all the major teams involved in these sports ie the rats the soccer to use the oval and ask their respective councils to help fund it. the surface could be improved to cater for these sports.

To attract increased community use;
The surface obviously needs to be improved so more than 12 games a year plus dog walkers, local joggers and kids school gorups can use without sprinklers becoming a oh&s hazard.
More undercover seats so that Manly and whoever else hires the ground can sell premium tickets and the attendees of event can watch from a seat (not wooden bench) and be out of elements.
Commercial development southern stand can help fund the maintenance cost which will mean any hire fee can go towards further developing ground, to eventually (with some funding help from other parties feds, council,) a grandstand behind the hill with community sporting facilities underneath. Which can be used all year round.
That would increase community use.

Upgraded maybe, but certainly not extended. Also, keeping the hill as a grassed area is paramount to maintaining the unique family atmosphere. Where are the days when footie was played in the afternoon so the whole family could enjoy a day out? Only because TV $$$grabbers prefer night games should not mean that the whole facility gets uprooted!

Better toilet facilities.
Retain the hill.
Improved player facilities.
